Our convention program chair seeks potential host sites for our annual state convention, compares cost for rooms, meals, commuting distance, and presents options with recommendation to the board for approval. After board approval and having the president sign a contract with the host site, the convention program chair works with public relations, newsletter, and web site chairs to develop and publish convention information to all DoDDS-Europe schools and administration. The convention program chair coordinates between the European PTA office manager and the host site to maintain communication and ensure that we successfully process all convention registration requests. The convention chair also appoints and oversees the Banquet chair and the Commercial Exhibitors chair, to insure a outstanding convention.

Our convention will include inspirational and motivational general sessions with representatives from DoDEA, DoDDS-Europe, and the National PTA. Our keynote speaker will be the chair of the European Dependent Education Council. In addition, there will be workshops to train local PTA leaders on the requirements and procedures to operate their local PTA or PTSA unit.

Banquet Chair

Our convention banquet manager assists our overall convention program chair in coordinating our banquet for the closing night of our annual convention. This includes working with the host site for menu and drink options, ensuring sufficient tables and seating for all delegates, special guests, European PTA board members, and other guests joining us for the banquet. In addition, our banquet manager works with the overall convention theme and makes recommendations to the board for decorative special effects.

Commercial Exhibitors

Our convention commercial exhibit coordinator assists our overall convention program chair in soliciting commercial sponsors to set up exhibits for their materials and services at our annual convention.

We will conduct our State PTA Convention this year at the Armed Forces Recreation Center in Garmish, Germany on TBD.
