Spelling Bee
Our Spelling Bee Chair works with our chairs for public relations, newsletter, and webmaster, as well as with our office manager to publicize our annual spelling bee to all European PTA-member local unit schools, and ensure that our local units have all of the materials that they need to conduct local competitions and send winners forward to our European event in a timely manner. In addition, our spelling bee chair makes recommendations for the board to approve a host site for our Europe-wide spelling bee.
For the event of the European PTA spelling bee, our program chair enlists the help of European PTA board members, local volunteers, and local dignitaries to serve in various functions to support the event. In addition, our spelling bee chair works with our sponsorship chair and solicits sponsorship on their own to cover European PTA expenses in conducting this event, and to cover costs for sending our winner and a parent or guardian to the National Scripps-Howard Spelling Bee in the United States.
